I am writing the post today to thank a fellow blogger Sh. Abhijit Ray, who nominated me for the Sunshine Blogger Award, really such happenings are a bit surprising for me. I thank him very much for liking my blog posts and now nominating me for this award.

1. Why do you blog?

At young age, when I somehow finished my studies, at that time I perhaps fell in a different type of company! I was in Delhi at that time, I started writing poems (in Hindi) and attending poetic symposia and broadcasting my poems on All India Radio. Some of my poems were also quoted in books on poetry and research papers, in the sonnet (Nav-Geet) section. Though I never got published any collection of my own poems.

Anyway after going deep down in responsibilities as an employee, a responsible official of Public sector enterprises, this practice of writing poetry got discontinued. Though I got the opportunity of organizing public functions and Kavi Sammelans, so I somehow kept in touch with this world of art and in fact with very well known poets and artists.

Now after my retirement, I found that writing blogs is a nice way to refresh and keep expressing myself.

1. What does blogging mean to you?

Blogging is now a days very nice tool to express oneself, to be in dialogue with the world and definitely we get in touch with so many creative people in this field. It is a welcome relief for those who earlier had to keep following the publishers and keep estimating how much they might have to spend for publishing a book.

Yes one can think of publishing his collection of blog posts, if he finds it easy and possible. People who are much talkative keep expressing themselves however for introverts blogging is a nice medium to reach right audience.

1. What is your favorite blogging topic and why?

Since I am a poet at heart, I have shared many of my own poems and many lovely poems by great poets and Film songs, that I love very much. As I have been a translator, I have also tried my hand at translating various poems and songs. Yes I have been a great lover and admirer or the great showman Raj Kapoor and the divine singer – Mukesh Ji. They have also occupied considerable space in my blog posts.

1. Who is your audience and how do you reach out to them?

I write what I like the most, considering myself the first reader. Definitely those who like and love the world around like me, have similar literary taste, my blog-posts would naturally reach them.

1. How do you intend to expand your reach and your reader base?

I do not plan all that, If my blog posts are liked and appreciated by the people who read them, the reader base would definitely and gradually expand.

1. Who is your favorite blogger from your genre?

There are so many bloggers who write great posts and are very creative. I am very much impressed by different people at different times. I would not like to judge them and name them.

1. Do you intend to be a professional blogger ever?

I write my blog-posts to express myself, to reach the right people. I do not have any plans of becoming a professional blogger at present atleast.

1. Do you intend to convert your blogposts into a book?

No such plan at present, but it might come to my mind some time, not sure about that.

1. What is the importance of Sun Shine Blogger nomination to you?

Every recognition is important, so is Sun Shine Blogger nomination.

1. In addition to blogging, what else is your hobby?

I love to watch good movies, specially old movies, listen to old songs, specially of Mukesh Ji. Gazals of Ghulam Ali Ji, Jagjit Singh Ji etc.

1. What is one thing that no one knows about you?

I think I also do not know that thing. I would have to test through ‘Johari Window’?

I have already gone through the questions posed by Sh. Abhijit Ray before his nominees, including me. I found that I was not the right person to answer most of the questions.

Further we know that Arjuna could get great knowledge from Lord Krishna by asking right questions. I only feel that had I been in place of Arjuna, I might not have got anything since I am not in habit of asking questions. One can say that I do not have a scientific approach, since one has to keep asking questions to acquire new knowledge.

Anyway I feel it safe and wise, on my part to handover all the questions asked by Sh. Ray and find the possible answers for myself also. I hope it is not cheating!
